Will this actually work on MY hair type?
Yes — and we know that's what every brand says. Mistly has been tested across fine, thick, curly, coily, wavy, colour-treated and chemically-straightened hair. The mist + bristle mechanism works the same way on every texture because it's closing the same gap (hydration + tension) on every texture. If it turns out your hair is the one exception we haven't found, return it within 60 days for a full refund.
Will it work on my daughter's hair? She has knots on top of knots.
Mistly is the brush many moms use specifically for this reason. Start at the ends, work upward, press the thumb button as you go. The mist softens the knot before the bristles pull it. Most of our "she actually let me brush her hair" reviews come from this exact use case.
What do I put in the spray chamber?
Water works. Diluted leave-in conditioner works (1 part leave-in, 3 parts water). A gentle detangler spray works. Avoid thick, oil-based products or anything with a cream base — they can clog the nozzle. When in doubt, water is enough; the mechanism is about timing, not about adding a fancy product to your routine.
How long does one fill last?
About 2–3 weeks of daily use for one person, or about 1 week if you're also brushing a child's hair every morning. Refills take 15 seconds.
How do I clean it?
Rinse the chamber with warm water. Spray clean water through the nozzle to flush any residue. Wipe the bristles with a damp cloth. Full cleaning routine takes under 2 minutes; we recommend doing it once a month (more if you're using leave-in or detangler in the chamber).
Is it safe for wet hair? I've been told wet hair breaks easily.
That's true for stiff, bristly brushes. Mistly's bristles are flexible and spaced to slip around knots rather than rip through them. Combined with the built-in mist, you get less breakage on wet hair than you would dry-brushing without a detangler.
What's the ongoing cost? Do I have to buy refills?
No. You refill the chamber yourself with water or whatever you prefer. There's no proprietary refill to buy. No subscription. One-time purchase.
How is this different from the cheap spray brushes on Amazon?
The Amazon spray brushes we've tested drip, leak, clog within weeks, or mist so weakly you can't tell if it's on. Mistly's mist chamber is pressurised, sealed, and refillable. It mists evenly for the full length of the chamber. And if it doesn't, you have 60 days to send it back.
Is it TSA-friendly?
Yes. Empty the chamber before flying; refill at your destination. The brush itself is well under any carry-on restriction.
Is the sale real or fake-urgent?
The $39.99 price is the standing price. $66.99 was the original launch price when Mistly first shipped in 2024. We lowered it once we had the reviews to justify running without the premium markup. The counter isn't ticking.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Return it within 60 days for a full refund. You don't have to explain why. You don't need to return the brush — keep it, pass it on. We only ship this way because we've seen the return rate, and the number of people who actually ask for a refund is small enough that the guarantee costs us less than your peace of mind.
